Project 0.2 started as the quest to break the 0.2 (m^2) CdA barrier that remains elusive to so many athletes. By modern performance standards this benchmark for aero performance has shifted, thanks to the evolution of time trial positions. Sync Ergonomics has been a prominent part of this change with the development of our ergonomic cockpit solutions.
The journey that started from one product that soon grew to a family of aerobar solutions - Aerobar One, Aerobar Two and Aerobar Three. The focus may have shifted but the ethos remains the same – The achievement of the best possible time trial position, improving comfort and improving aerodynamic performance.
The proven simple and effective aerobar solution when you are seeking a high-hands position, with the minimum number of components and high priority for ease of setup. Aerobar One is an ecosystem of components for those chasing comfort and speed, across all time-trial disciplines.
The high-hands time trial position has long been used by athletes seeking comfort and improved aerodynamic performance. With the minimum number of changeover components, Aerobar One delivers a true high-hands position, maximising the gains that can be made in position optimisation.
When working through the position optimisation process, we were unable to find solutions that supported our desired positional outcomes. So, we made our own. Aerobar One comprises the basic components required to achieve a true high-hands position. Minimum number of components and easy installation, yet the maximum effect on comfort and performance.
Aerobar One is for the athlete new to bike fitting or new to exploring the high-hands time trial position. The development of Aerobar One draws on our extensive experience in bike fitting and an understanding of the minimum components required for successful execution.
Aerobar Two is an ecosystem of components for those looking for greater options for position optimisation along with extra comfort and extra speed. Building on the success of Aerobar One, we went back to the drawing board to engineer in more options for stack height, arm cup reach and forearm angulation.
The high-hands time trial position has long been used by athletes seeking comfort and improved aerodynamic performance and Aerobar Two we have taken this to a whole new level of possibilities. Arm cup reach (length) and arm cup stack (height) are well catered for and for 2024 we’ve increased the angle range, accommodating for 15-25 degrees of forearm angulation.
After working with countless athletes and our experience designing and implementing the Aerobar One, we saw an opportunity for further gains. One of the biggest challenges in delivering an aftermarket extension solution is the strategy for mounting. While simple in concept, we designed Aerobar Two to be a comprehensive aerobar solution with a bike-specific Fit Kit, delivering consistent positional outcomes, irrespective of the bike.
Aerobar Two is for the athlete exploring all options for position optimisation, pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved from a performance-focused cockpit setup. The development of Aerobar Two draws on our extensive experience in bike fitting and an understanding of where athletes can find the maximum gains in position optimisation.
The focus of Aerobar Three has been optimisation of design, around integration, weight and aerodynamic performance, while catering for the positional requirements of elite athletes. Aerobar Three is a modular, semi customisable, performance extension solution, built to your needs.
Aerobar Three is an extension solution that matches the profile of rider’s forearm, providing additional support and improving aerodynamic performance. Thanks to the modular design and the configurations offered, Aerobar Three does this while catering for a wide range of positional requirements.
Aerobar Three was created for the elite athletes we work with, as an integrated solution, delivering the performance they demand. Our experience and evaluation of competitors shows us that we need to cater for a wider range of forearm lengths, to really provide a valuable product to the market. Our modular design and the Aerobar Three extension solution grew from this understanding.
Taking advantage of our modular design and customisation options, Aerobar Three caters to the needs of athletes who understand their desired time trial position, with documented fit measurements. Aerobar Three is an integrated, performance-focused extension solution for both UCI regulated competition and Triathlon.
